Hello Medit-fellows -
Just a note to let you know I've uploaded some changes to
the Medit-Plants web site. For those of you who don't yet
have the URL bookmarked, here it is:
http://www.support.net/Medit-Plants/
Note the new format - an asterisk noting which sections have
been recently updated, as well as a 'what's new' section. I'll
try and keep these current so you can see what has happened
since the last time you check out the site.
Of timely importance is the 'Gardening Under Mediterranean
Skies' symposium here in the SF Bay Area. The more I hear
about this event, the more interesting and informative it sounds!
The editor of Pacific Horticulture, and Strybing Arboretum's
Education director are working hard to produce a worthwhile
experience even as I type this note. There will be speakers
both local and from the Mediterranean (Heidi Gildemeister, the
president of the Mediterranean garden Society, and Joan Tesei
from Villa Landriana, Italy), as well as local Bay Area and
California nurseryman to show their 'Mediterranean wares'!
Some garden tours are also associated with the event. There is
a host of other interesting events taking place soon, so check out
the new 'events' section on the above site and mark your
calendars! If anyone has other events to publicize that would be
of interest to our Medit-Plants folks, please send me the details.
As usual, I hope I haven't 'broke' too many things with my
updates (though even now I see one or two things that aren't
quite right!). If you happen to notice any problems, please point
them out - the site is getting larger and it is harder for me to
comb through the whole thing looking for problems. The format is
settling down so we should have less of this in future. Also, if
anyone has anything they'd think should be published here, a garden
to feature, a nursery or professional wishing to join our pages,
do let me know about these as well.
Thanks to all who have helped me build this site and all who might
consider joining in its future development! This is YOUR site!
