I have to agree with Deborahs comment!
and while we are on the subject of nomeclature
please don't blame botanists or taxonomists for
all this confusion.
Just think how many species there are out there
many still unnamed, and many present over very wide ranges
where they may look very different from one location to another.
Its not suprising that the same species could be named independently
by several different people and this not picked up until someone revises
the
Genus or Family (maybe a hundred years later)
And of course there are only so many names to use,
you should check of course that the name hasn't been used before
but.... thats life!
In this modern age of electronic information exchange while the data may
be
coming at you quicker and more of it its still about the same ratio of
rubbish
to usefull stuff 99 to 1 I reckon! :-)
