Gary's Garden

Thank you all for the great feedback - I have incorporated some of it on the
home page this morning.

I have to say I found the opening text very difficult to write for a number
of reasons. I dare say I can do better after I ponder a few more days, but
your thoughts on that section are very welcome. I didn't want to be negative
but how not, under the circumstances? I was especially worried that it
speaks for the group, and I want to be sure that it captures what we all
want to say. I'm not sure it does.

I took Paul's good advice and added contact information at the bottom of the
first page, for those who would like to contribute a photograph to the
garden. Many, many folks volunteered to help, so if I get too busy to keep
up with the scanning or we run out of space, there will still be resources
to keep it going. :-)

I also added a bible quote at the very bottom that always comes to my mind
when situations like this arise. I will remove it if I get even one
objection from any in this group - this quote from The New Testament just
seemed very appropriate to me, under the circumstances.

I was also thinking that I have seen many lovely quotes and thoughts in the
letters on this subject. Speaking for myself, if you would like to add a
quote under your plant photo, I think it would make the virtual garden all
the more interesting to stroll through, so feel free to let me know if you
do.

I would like to contact his daughter about adding a photo of Gary and more
biographical info, perhaps some quotes from his letters. I'm sorry - does
someone have her contact info? And has anyone been talking to his partner
about this or should I let her know?

I'm so glad we're doing this. I know it's a small thing but it feels good to
be taking some sort of action and it feels even better to be doing so with
others who feel the same way. And it feels good that we're creating
something that is beautiful.

Gary's Garden is ready to grow. What will you be planting in it? :-)
