Hello to everybody,
I've just purchased this Ipomea, but I could not get enough infos about it
on my books. I know I have to go to the AAR library and get a copy of
Tropica (or should it be Exotica?), but it means crossing the whole back
garden of the Academy and I feel a little lazy, given the extreme heat and
humidity of these days. Soo, in the meanwhile, could somebody give an answer
to the following doubts?
1. I gather this is not a vine but a shrub. How big does it grow?
2. Does it stand cold, how much, for how long?
3. Water requirements?
I planted it close to my porch, at home, so that it gets watered when we
wash the floor, and the roof's eaves will give it some winter protection,
but now I am afraid it will smother the other plants...
4. Will it require a trellis, or is it self supporting?
5. Any other info? I understand it is a Mexican plant, is this correct?
Thank you for encouraging my summer lazyness. To tell the truth, when I
arrive home after work I try to take advantage of the cooler hours, and
garden til dinner time...
