Medit. Gardening Symposium in Sept, 2000

Fellow Medit-Plants-persons -

At a local horticultural meeting last night, the education
director of Strybing Arboretum mentioned to me that she and
the editor of Pacific Horticulture where on the lookout for
speakers for next year's (2000) Mediterranean Climate
Gardening Symposium in September. She indicated to me that
they'd like to focus more closely on the actual plants that
are appropriate to grow in our climates. If any of you have
heard speakers that were both informative and compelling,
please let me know and I will forward these names onto the
organizers of this event.

Last year, there were a variety of the speakers from throughout
the state of California, as well as some from overseas. There
were also a compliment of interesting nurseries which showed
and sold intereting plants that were good to consider for a
garden tuned to the mediterranean climate. If anyone has ideas
or suggestions in this area, I can also pass these along.

Thanks for your help.
Sean O.
