Re: Cerinthe retorta

Tim
My 'Griffiths' says that Ceriunthe retorta is distinct, giving it as an
ascending to erect annual to 50cm.The basal leaves are longer than C.
major. The corolla is yellow, distally tinged violet, whereas C. major is
yellow tinged purple or dark red. Seem a distinction of shade - always
unreliable anyway. Both being annual, one would only have one chance to
decide!
Hope someone has better distinguishing characteristics.
