Ken Gillanders brought back S. corrugata from one of his annual
plant hunting trips to South America - Chile I think, and introduced
it to Australia through his WOODBANK nursery at Longley in
Tasmania. This was several years ago. My plant did not like the
very cold winds and exposed position here on our hilltop and
dwindled away over winter. I am now experimenting with S.
guaranitica 'Argentine Skies'. The plain form thrives and has made
a large clump but the named cv. is reputed to be somewhat less
robust. A few weeks more when we get into spring should tell if it is
going to make it.
