Hi Ann

Unless they increase greatly these don't sound like much of a threat.
They could, I suppose be the young of some nice buttefly or interesting
moth (I have never seen caterpillars on raspberries here, but a good few
of our species are different to yours in the US anyway). I suggest if
you don't find them increasing a lot you could try to leave them and
maybe observe what they grow into, but if they noticeably increase so
they really defoliate the canes or try to attack the fruit then you
might have to play policeman by picking them off and squashing them.
