Re: Fun to touch plants

In winter I visited Arkitsa, a small resort town across from the island of Evia.
While walking along the beach I spotted a field of silver wooly ruffled plants
which were so decorative and tactile, I reached down and pulled a small one up
by the roots. It has turned out to be a papaver, although I'm not sure which
kind (atlanticum?) and has been blooming for weeks now. The buds nod, then look
upward when ready to open. Deep buttery yellow flowers. In this case, the
touching came first and the flower was a bonus!
