Tony's account of Jacarandas having been teamed with Brachychiton in
Sydney reminds me of Nairobi before the withdrawl of the British when
the beds down the magnificent main avenue were planted with Jacarandas
in a ground cover of pegged-down Bougainvilleas in a rich shade of dark
crimson. The effect was truely splendid. (Brachychiton never reached
East Africa, though I am sure it would have done well there).
Thanks Tony for so much useful and interesting information about the
climate of eastern OZ and the distribution of Brachychiton. It greatly
amplifies what I already have in the Australian Widflower Catalogue
