would be interested.)
The plant you mentioned (I've uploaded your attached photo to the web here):

seems to be an Asteriscus, possibly A. maritimus, which is perhaps a more
common species. It is interesting to note your experience with it - yes, I
would agree that this would suggest it as a worthy plant. We have the species
above available to us in the horticultural trade (California), but I had not
had the opportunity to really test it out. It looks like a very useful plant!
