Dear Karrie,
I think you may be correct about this particular
plant being infertile, judging from the growth of this plant I think
it will never get berries. I have waited three years to see if it was
just late in developing but now I am thinking it will never get flowers or
berries. Too bad it isn't without thorns instead of being without
berries. Its branches are nice and healthy but alas no berries. It
is the last one in a row - I am sorry it isn't planted between the two with
berries. Then I could weave the berried branches through the one
without. This goes to show when purchasing plants for their berries - to
purchase them at the time of year when they have the berries to be sure you get
one with berries. I did do this but at the time there were only three
plants of the same type at the nursery I was at, two with berries and one
without - so I got the three, and, of course, I thought it would get berries
another year. I wonder how often this happens in plant
propagation?
