Hi Ben,
My favorite lavender for long bloom time is L. 'Goodwin Creek Grey'
which is not grey at all, but silver with dark violet blooms. In
bloom practically all year. More compact than L. heterophylla, it can
still get fairly large. My hint to keep all lavenders from getting
too large: keep them on the dry side- very dry, especially in summer.

Hi all,
One of my favorite lavenders is Lavandula heterophylla: in southern
California, it blooms for months on end, and is very fragrant.
Like most lavenders, however, it gets rather large, about 3 feet (1
m) across. Can anyone recommend a similar but smaller cultivar
with a long blooming season?
