Looks like a form of Elaeagnus angustifolia, RUSSIAN OLIVE, SILVER BERRY, OLEASTER.

Quite common in the great north, especially in dry locations such as on sand.

Hello everyone,

Seems I've got nothing but mystery plant questions these days, but this is for a friend in Michgan. *Now*, I realize Michigan is about as far from Mediterranean gardening as possible, but you all are very very knowledgable so I thought of you. The plant in question is a tree friend sees around where he lives. I had him take some close up shots of the leaves and flower (buds), as well as a full shot of the trees, so perhaps this will be helpful in identifying them?
