Hi everyone,
This is mostly directed towards Medit members here in the Santa Clara
Valley region (California Bay Area), but any advice is gratefully accepted!
I'm considering starting work in the landscape design field, particularly
small scale residential and commercial (in conjunction with my architect
husband). I am wondering if anyone here has advice on schooling or other
methods of getting started here in the Silicon Valley area. I've heard that
Foothill College has a good program in Ornamental Horticulture--any
comments on it? Are there other respected programs in the area? Is more
schooling needed?
My background is a somewhat odd mix: Computer Science degree from Cal Poly
SLO and four years working as a programmer, then another seven years in
various graphic design fields, most recently web design. I'm thinking about
continuing the web design work independently and part-time while studying
landscape design. At present, the only landscape design I've completed is
my own front yard, which can be seen on our website here:

Thanks!
