I've grown this in central England from cuttings collected in Crete, and
seeds from Mallorca, where it is native. The Mallorcan plant was outside
growing up an old dead tree stump, while the Cretan one was in an
unheated greenhouse. Both grew well and remained evergreen. The flowers
are small and not very showy, but attractive in their subtle way. Maybe
you could mix it with Clematis armandii, which is also evergreen, with
much larger leaves and flowers? I'm sure it would grow well if C.
cirrhosa was happy too.
Nick.
