Don't know if this helps or confuses. Christopher Lloyd,famous British
plantsman, (and fellow lover of exotic plants), has recently written about
growing your poppy . Where he gardens in south east England it grows as an
annual . He describes it as having 'glaucous leaves and soft red,quite
sizeable flowers that have telling black blotches'. Does this sound like the
same plant ?
