Hi Paul,
Your desciption looks like Santolina
neapolitana, which is a very nice species with finely cut, feathery foliage,
longer and wider than that of Santolina chamaecyparissus.
There are three forms usually available in trade : Santolina
neapolitana the type, with bright yellow flowers , Santolina neapolitana 'Edward
Bowles', beautiful white silvery leaves and nice lemon flowers (my favourite),
and Santolina neapolitana 'Sulfurea' with pale cream flowers.
