Dea Bill,
It seems to be one of those world-wide endemics - a plant that is
found almost everywhere. (There's a word for them but I can't
remember it.) I have found pink and white forms around here, and
also several shades of darker blue. I used to grow them in the
garden but found the flowers were closed when I got home from
work - late afternoon is my usual time to spend in the garden - so I
stopped growing them.
