Mediterranean bulbs

Dear Medit-plant forum members,
Having just joined the forum I would like to introduce myself:
I am a member of the MGS and we have a nursery in the south of France
specialising in bulbs (incl rhizomes, corms, rootstocks etc) for the
mediterranean climate.
At the moment we are in the middle of the springflowering season,
just the mention a few examples: the South african genera of Moraeas,
Hesperantha, Gladiolus, Lachenalia (just finishing), the spectacular
gentian bleu Tecophaelias from Chili, botanical tulips just starting (T
clusiana, praecox, bakeri etc) The spring flowering finishes towards
the end of May with the Californian Calochortus and Triteleia species.
Most species are grown in full ground without protection, while the more
tender species are in a shadow hall and a few in a plastic tunnel.
From January till the end of March we sell summerflowering bulbs
bulbs which need irrigation. But during the period July till the end of
October we propose a wide range of wintergrowers originating from all
the Mediterranean climate areas in the world, which flower from
September till the end of Mai (see our summer and autumn catalogs).
For more technical information I invite you to visit our web site
(see address below) and of course I will participate in any forum
discussion concerning flowerbulbs. In addition I highly recommend
the IBS (International bulb Soc.) forum and imagelist with a very lively
worldwide ongoing conference on flowerbulbs.
I look very much forward to participating in the medit-plant forum
Kind regards
