I have observed a bright yellow orange coloured aphid that lives
underground on the roots and subterranean stems of plants,
particularly perennials and small soft wooded sub-shrubs. I haven't
observed them too closely, preferring to drench the few plants I
have found with sudsy warm water but I wonder if such as these
might not form a reservoir for terrestrial invasions? They seem
completely impervious to very wet soils and to cold weather (not
freezing)
