Re: Orange aphids

G'day,

It has been interesting to read of the orange aphids, and what plants
they affect. It is also a warning that they will be returning to us who
garden in climates which are not truly mediterranean but which tolerate
Med. plants and their pests.
Here it is the oleanders which are particularly affected, and the white
ones the worst. We are essentially organic gardeners, and for most
aphids use some form of soft soap; it works in the long run, but the run
is often between very long and too long.
I notice that the sap of oleanders is also orange to yellow, and had
thought that this was the cause of the aphid's colouring, but got that
wrong too.
Any other remedies?

Best wishes for the coming (northern) season,
