I'll sacond that.  When I was a teenager in Massachusetts, my parents had
both sickly apple trees and Juniperus species near one another, and I
remember seeing these growths on the latter.  As I recall, there was often a
dark purple center.  These alternate host fungi do more damage to apple trees.
