Re: transhipment of Trees from Southern to Northern California

Hello all,
Does anyone know what the current or proposed status
of intrastate transhipment of plant material is? I
had heard rumors that due to the latest problems with
the spread of the insect that is imperiling the grape
and winery industries,(Glassy Winged Sharpshooter?)
that nurseries in Southern California would not be
able to ship up north, without going through a
quarantine period and held by brokers first. The same
thing might also apply to the industry here in
Northern California. It would seem like that could be
a fatal blow to the landscape and nursery industries
if it comes to pass.
