There was a shock when we learned that one of the great mail nurseries in the US was sold to a big seed company that has been around for over a century and sells all kinds of routine plants but nothing really unusual. Burpee-Heronswood is now the official title. The catalogues were unique and full of 100s of rare plants each year. It bears watching to see if Burpee does not change the focus.
