David - I guess sensitivity to smells is a particularly personal thing.
Certainly the vestia's was one I found particularly hard to, ahum, stomach.
Also, too, of course, because it was always getting battered, I had to spend
a lot of time in all too close contact with it, which didn't help.

Flowering here was steady rather than extravagant. I'd guess that almost
anywhere in the UK it would need cold greenhouse treatment to perform as in
that photograph. (Dave Poole, if still with us, will no doubt chip in to
say: Not in Torquay it doesn't....). Fine if you have unlimited greenhouse
space. I don't - and what I do have is reserved for what I can't bear to be
without rather than what I just find 'interesting'!
