Some people in the Bay Area probably feel lucky to get
a barrel cactus through the winter, let alone a
saguaro; any winter-rainfall-adapted cactus is a boon
to those who grow them. I have never seen B. emoryi
for sale up here, and wonder if it will survive our
12-50 annual inches of rain. This winter gave us our
annual totals in an early deluge followed by a dry
Jan-Feb.
Thanks for the details on these SoCal cacti.

PS Maybe the military could sell extra Bergerocactus
from explosions on San Clemente Island! ;-)
