In the log I have kept for years, the camellias bloom here in
December, the horrible acacia intruders in early January, the Clematis
armandii always in January at the latest. The Aussie natives - it's a long
list - are way off track, especially the grevilleas (I have over 60) as some
bloomed late autumn and others are just blooming now.All of the above are now in
bloom, finally.
The weather report (I live one mile inland from Monterey Bay)
here - the morning temp was frozen at 40 (F) since early December. Only two
weeks ago did it edge up a bit, then back down until Sunday! It was 60 at 8 am
and worked itself up to 85 by 3 pm, then dropped suddenly.
Anyone have similar experiences? Bill Grant,
Aptos
