I live in Los Gatos, the San Jose area.  Have successfully had bananas on my trees here.  Not sure without the leaves but if they are there I would keep them propped up and hope for the best.  I do know the wind is more damaging to bananas than the cold in our area.  I have mine in a protected spot.  Usually if you get them this far you have a good chance of success.
