Re: Echiums

How tall are they supposed to get eventually? I see
Sunset lists it at 4 - 6 feet, but I was driving down
my street today and saw the electric blue of two very
big Echium candicans. The plants were massive and the
spikes were above the roofline of the house. 

They also seem to be longer lived thant 5 - 6 years
here around Monterey. There are a couple that are at
least 12 years old here, which have grown into very
tall, but leggy shrubs (almost like small trees). I
think it may be due to the lack of actual cultivation
that they don't get spoiled.
