Re: Erysimum linifolium - fragrant melon-orange flower ?

Might it be simply Erysimum x allionii, a plant that used to be common in the California nursery trade? A slightly spicy floral scent.
Or just possibly E.perofskianum or one of its hybrids? Unlikely to be E.linifolium, as all cultivars from this species seem to have at least some mauve in them.

Incidently I see Flora lists the majority of modern wallflower cultivars as simply "hybrids of mixed parentage". their breeding now having become too tangled to unravel!

I have a bushy hybrid from this group which is a mix of bright orange and purple. It was sold to me under the name of 'Iron ore' but appears identical with one listed in Flora as 'Winter Cheer' Apart from the still extant vetran Bowles Mauve I think it psys to buy only on sight or you may not get what you expect.

Hello all,
I came across a fragrant melon-orange flowered Erysimum linifolium
at Target of all places today - but it is mislabeled as 'Bowle's
Mauve'. Is anyone familiar with the melon-orange variety, have you
grown it and do you know the name of the variety? I tried to find
it in the internet but didn't have any luck.
