Oh yes, I learned that the hard way last year when I
left the country for 5 weeks and the person I had
watering didn't water deep enough. Everything I
planted looked like it got scorched.

Size isn't an issue. It's in a planting bed in the
backyard that is easily 20 feet from fence to the
eventual lawn area, and the protea is planted back
from where the lawn will be. In fact, I'd like to get
a few more to provide a nice mass back there.
I'd also like to get some Leucospermums for some
variety as well. Any thoughts on those?
