Hello All, I am, I think, part of the original cohort of this list. I am from the Central Valley of California, where I still work. My home and garden are in the very low foothills of the Sierra in the transition zone between Valley oak grasslands and gray pine foothills. Because one of my primary research endeavors on the campus of UC Davis is to perform plant trials on low irrigation levels, much of my garden is made up of the favorite successes from those trials. My job (in the signature line below) takes me all over the state, and sometimes the world. I am no longer active in the Mediterranean Garden Club due to the distance from the group’s hub and my own busy work and family schedule, but I follow closely the activities when I can, and have always enjoyed the interaction and collective wisdom and knowledge of this group. I have met some wonderful people through it, and hope to meet more on my travels. Cheers!
