I've gotten many requests like Loren's so here's some basic info for anyone
coming to Southern California this spring. There is a general wildflower
hotline for all of Southern California. I've never called it, but it is
listed in several resources, call 1-818-768-3533. They'll likely be able
to tell you about the poppy preserve. For Anza Borrego State Park
wildflower information, call 1-760-767-4684.

There are several articles in today's Los Angeles Times Travel section
about seeing wildflowers in both Anza Borrego and in Southern Arizona (an
incredible desert unlike any you could imagine!). You can view it on-line
at http://www.latimes.com/HOME/NEWS/TRAVEL/.

And finally, follow W. Bade's suggestion and check out
www.desertusa.com/index.html. It's wonderful! I wish I'd seen this site
before we went to the desert. It tells you about desert blooms all over
California! Thanks William!

Go out there and have a great time!

Nan
