In my experience, they're very prone to some sort of root rot... lost the
first batch of 5 seedlings from overwatering in the gh, regular soil
mix... germinated another batch of 5, this time transplanting to cactus
mix (half potting soil, half perlite); lost them just before flowering to
overwatering. Germinated 5 more, transplanted to pots 1/4 full of pea
gravel, the rest with hard-fired kitty litter (the early version of
Turface), and got them to blooming size with the help of fish emulsion
(the only fertilizer I seem to have luck with on plants in kitty litter).
Didn't bother to grow them for class the following year. They did smell
good, though. ;-)
