Hi All,
not sure about this plant's needs of humidity as it grows in some of the
hottest arid areas of Hawaii just fine without any real humidity just fine.
Of course they are growing here in humid manoa valley just fine on the UH
campus. Very common to be used as hedge plantings (I have seen some in
excess of 12 feet high). Makes a nice barrier for security due to the the
thorns. I have been noticing new cultivares with small thorns and
prostrate growth habits. Might be possible to get it more heat by placing
it near ones clothes dryer exhaust vent. Works in getting more tropical
species to bloom in high elevation areas in Hawaii.
