Re: Unknown flower


It looks like a Phacelia (Hydrophyllaceae), based on the scorpioid
inflorescence and purple flowers; and it looks like the upper leaves are
3-lobed, which is often the case in Phacelia.  There are many many species
so wouldn't hazard a guess without an actual specimen in hand.  There are
annuals, biennials, and perennials in the genus.  Many from western North
America.
