The advice of Common Ground in Palo Alto is to cut lavender back to just a few leaves in late winter. That has worked fine in my garden for ten years. The plants grow back gorgeous each year. Time will tell with what the new owner does. Nancy Formerly of Los Altos, now in Morgan Hill CA
