I don't know what David sent but, besides the ones you mention, there are
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden which features California natives
http://www.cgu.edu/inst/rsa/ , the Mathias Garden at UCLA
http://www.botgard.ucla.edu/ and my location at The Arboretum of Los Angeles
County (very close to The Huntington) http://www.arboretum.org/ .

Thanks for prompt answer, David.   I have read about and seen photos of the
Descanso Gardens, so that will be first on my list.   I have also  visited
the Huntington Library on the Net.
