Foliar signs of Sudden Oak Death?

Perhaps one of you can answer my question. What are the foliar symptoms in
Coast Live Oaks (Q. agrifolia) with SOD? Does it start off with scattered
dead leaves that stay on the branch, and then progress, or is this just
something they do normally and I havent noticed it until all the news
about SOD?

I have noticed certain trees that seem to be dead or on their way there,
but that doesnt mean anything, since other things can kill oaks. I guess
the surefire way is to check for the reddish bleeding from the trunk,
right?
