Serissa foetida

A quick enquiry which might, it seems, illicite
more of a response from certain parts of California if I'm lucky. Whilst
mooching around our local garden centre (note to all those outside the UK there
is usually a discernable botanical gulf between a garden centre and a 'nursery')
I chanced upon some very well prepared Serissa foetida 'Pink Mystic', being
offered as outdoor plants. It's not a plant which I've seen for sale here very
often, if at all.
To the best of my knowledge I've always assumed
Serissa to be a bonsai plant but which might be grown in favoured climates.
Anyone out there able to fill in a few details as regards soil conditions,
planting position etc. ?, staggered by the quality and sized of said plants I
admit parting company with the moolah with undue haste.
many thanks in advance for any forthcoming
information,
Mark Brent
