I grow Salvia dorisiana in several locations in my garden. I have a huge happy clump of it up by the house, north wall, under misters. We are in a dry climate but it gets a mist every day. I also have it out in the hot glaring sun where it seldom gets water. It does well in both places, both conditions, but does better in the shade under misters with regular watering. I love it along paths where you must brush against it to get by. Stops you in your tracks everytime, nice in the evening or when you are in a hurry, makes you slow down and smell the salvia, roses are in a different area. To bad you are not in my area, I give it to everyone who would like it. It grows happily and I can chop it back and have enough for everyone. Carolyn in Los Gatos, Ca.
