Medit people,
I recently bought S. dorisiana, which I had already tried some time ago ,
but had to give up because my dogs seemed to love it and kept chewing it to
the ground.
Now we put the recently purchased one in the garden at Ischia, in the new
tropical house, but I am really concerned it will lack light, indoor. This
trop.house in fact is targeted for under-storey, low-light demanding Trop.
plants. The s.dorisiana was put in a more or less luminous spot, but still
it is shady compared to the amount of light we have outside. Moreover,
humidity ranges from 75 to 90%. The fact is we wanted to have something very
fragrant to stroke while sitting on a bench and looking at Johannesteismanja
palms and tropical cycads. It might sound a little eccentric, but you will
agree that the fragrance of those leaves is wonderful.
However, I am going to propagate this dorisiana as much as possible, to have
new plants and grow them outdoors. I thought I could give a try to the
mother plant, and if I see it becoming floppy and pale, I will move it
outdoors immediately. Do you think I should do it without waiting? And what
else can we plant in the stroking spot, to fulfill the requirement?
Thanks,
Alessandra
