Title: Re: California Poppies
Dear All,
Can anyone tell me how to stop what is happening to my California Poppies? They suddenly turn a sort of lime green, and in a few days flop over and die as if they can't get water or food. I changed locations and have the same problem in the new location. The stem of the plant looks fibrous and dry.
Thank you.

That's what happens. They are now on the decline. If
you allow them to remain until the seed pods are dried and open, they
will reseed themselves. You can also cut them back to the base
and you might get a second sprouting of leaves adn flowers.
Otherwise, bid them a fond farewell until next year.
