Dear all
The plant I wrote about earlier (see below) has now
been identified.It is Mandevilla laxa
Can anyone help me to identify a climbing plant
which I cannot find in any of my books. It is deciduous. It has white scented
flowers which are very similar in size and shape to white single oleander
flowers, except that the petals curl backwards at the edge. The leaf, however,
is completely different from the oleander leaf. It is almost heart shaped, about
12cm (4 3/4 inches) long and about 5cm (nearly 2") accross at its widest point.
It is a soft, deciduous kind of leaf, and hangs down. Not leathery like an
oleander leaf. I think it must be in the oleander family - the flower is also a
bit like a periwinkle flower (this is in the oleander family, I
discovered)
What a great web link this is!
Thanks to all
