Dear
All
My two Ficus Nitida
purchased in January just before the bad frosts on the Costa Blanca still don't
look too wonderful. I purchased them as 8-10ft specimens and had them
professionally planted in a good hole. They are on a slow
drip watering system (timed) to settle them in but there are alot of
partly yellowy leaves (I mean that the colour is not the 'dark glossy green' as
Ficus Nitida is described but they have a faint yellowishness to
them. The trees look sparse -ish - some dead twiggy bits, I would have
expected by the end of May to see some serious growth? They are supposed
to be dense and they are certainly not dense at the moment. There are some
berries on the end of some branches but not many and the growing tips look
like they are 'growing'( but that is to a 'real amateur' eye!). Has anyone
got ideas. We are having about 25C degrees here at the
moment.
The good news is
that the two Schinus Molles which I was so worried about in February look
wonderful!!!
