Hi Robin
I live in Adelaide which gets pretty hot and dry over summer - and we
are still dry here now, just one day away from winter. I grow Rosa
rubrifolia very successfully without summer irrigation. It has made a
large open shrub about 2m x 2m. i train two viticella clematis over it
and it looks great.

Greetings everyone
This is my first foray into this site. I garden in the warm
Mediterranean climate of Western Australia in Gingin, about an hour and
a half
drive north of Perth. Have any of you grown Rosa rubrifolia in a hot
summer
area? I admired this lovely foliage rose in Helen Dillon's garden in
Dublin
and since then have read glowing reports of it in many articles. It is
very
useful for floral art too.
Looking forward to your responses,
Robin
