Nancy -
This is definitely Linaria purpurea, which can be moved, but often
doesn't like it. ÂFall would be the best time to try transplanting.
Collecting seed and sowing it where you want it works very well if
transplanting does not, so be sure and collect some seed as backup.
As mentioned, 'Canon Went', named for the English garden, is a
beautiful cultivar that comes true from seed - a light shell pink.
There is also a pure white form (Annies Annuals currently stocks it)
that I find beautiful! ÂThe clean white flowers and gray-green foliage
are classic.
All are best if deadheaded to keep the flowers coming and keep
self-sowing to a minimum. ÂI have a few coming up in potted plants
even though I haven't grown this plant for a few seasons!
