Re: Slug Control

I have tried lying tubes around eg Hostas
to catch the slugs napping in the daytime
[caught a few],paprika, cinnamon, cayenne I
sprikled around a couple of plants[I learnt
this from mgarden email group], no avail.
Last year we scattered broken sea shells as
one of our daughters has an enormous bank of these
on her property, and I think it helped a little
but they just travelled to another part of the
garden. We have also used beer in a container
but most Aussies thinks that an awful waste.
As we have dozens of plants that are the creme
de creme to slugs and the peafowl, I just have
usually just shrug and tell people to look away!
Does anyone know what slug eggs look like?
Last weekend we were digging up and seperating
our Asiatic Primulas and practically every plant
had a lot of tiny, yellow-orange eggs. There also
seemed to be a sleepy garden worm curled up there
too. Do worms have eggs? Do slugs have eggs?
I washed all the roots before splitting and
replantin. There seemed to be no root damage.
