BUT id does break down slowly ( same as in redwood forests, thereby keeping
the soil acid and the trees become nurse logs ( as someone told me) I think
any dry , rough thing would deter snails. This is off but at the Monterey bay
aquarium they use astr turf to keep the Octopi in, Seems mollusks and other
such creatures dislike any dry rough surface. I wonder, would large grit sand
paper do the trick?
